Ernest Wayne Burns, 78, of Russellville, passed away Dec. 28, 2022 at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield He was born Jan. 9, 1944 to the late Earnest Burns and Edith (Leftrick) Burns.
He also preceded in death by his son, Wayne “Dude” Burns and his brothers, Joe Thomas Burns and Ricky Burns.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Jane Burns of Russellville; his daughter, Cynthia Burns of Springfield; his stepsons, David Alan Hall (Jessica) and Teddy Wayne Hall, both of Springfield; his brother, Michael Burns (Sharon) of Hartsville, Tenn.; and 5 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was a faithful member of Auburn Church of God and Prophecy. He loved Alabama Football, playing cards and grilling burgers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville with Bro. Steve Bird officiating services at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens.
