Betty Allen, 75, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at the Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green. She was a Logan County native, born June 13, 1947 to the late Robert Manners and Beulah Bobbett Manners. She was a rural mail carrier for the US Postal service, AND she was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lewisburg. She was also a member of the Rizpah Loonies Club.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Junior Morgan.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Tommy Allen Sr.; her son, Tommy Allen Jr. and wife Sherry of Russellville; her daughters, Gretchen Kilgore and husband Adam of Auburn and Tamara Santiago and husband Miguel of Frankfort; her sister, Barbara Alvis and husband Bruce of Olmstead; her grandchildren, Tabitha Smotherman, Trey Allen, Kyle Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Tyler Santiago, Tia Santiago and Gavin Kilgore; and her great-grandchildren, Brindley Smotherman, Brooklyn Smotherman, Joe Isac Smotherman, Hadley Morgan, Eli Morgan, Payton Morgan and Rhett Morgan.
Funeral services for Betty Allen will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Lewisburg with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville. Visitation at Summers and Son Funeral Home will be held Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will also be held Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and the church.
