James Garland Toomey, 90, of Olmstead, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2022, at Creekwood Place in Russellville.
He was born Friday, Jan. 8, 1932, the son of the late Hobert Toomey Sr. and the late Mildred Williams Toomey. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Insco Toomey.
He was a self-employed rock and lime hauler and a member of New Hope General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughter, Janie Davis (Pat) of Olmstead, and his barother, Lindel Toomey of Greenville.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Rosie Bell Wallace and Wilda Jean Pearson, and his brothers, J.D. Toomey, Raymond Toomey, Hobert McKinley Toomey Jr., Harold Toomey and Jerry Toomey.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, at Price Funeral Homae Inc., located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, with Pastor William Sofield officiating. Interment will be in Toomey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
