Elsie Ann Hallman Squire, 68, left this life peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in Morton, Ill.. She was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

She was the loving and devoted daughter of the late William Bill Forshee and Helen Prince. She is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Forshee of Chicago, and  her two beloved cats  Mr. Bojangles and Zeppelin.

She attended Eastern Illinois University and worked many years at Tennessee Odoms Sausage in Adairville and Dr. Robert Meyers’ office and Joyce's Beauty Shop in Russellville.

Elsie loved her two cats and her Granddog, Jax William Hallman. She loved animals and people.

She was a devoted, loving wife (mother) mama, a nanny, aunt, cousin and best friend to so many! She loved to sing (especially to her loving daughters Stephanie and Michelle, and in talent shows), and write poetry (she had many poems published) and to cook, dance, and play cards, blackjack on the casino boats and especially watching UK basketball!  She loved to travel, attending concerts, giving advice, and taking care of so many people in her life. She was one of the most free-spirited, caring, stubborn, sweet, funny, smart, best southern cook, and pretty, loving lady you could ever meet. She loved making people feel special, being a caretaker, and giving gifts and cards.

She is survived by her loving husband, John R. Squire. her daughters, Stephanie Lorraine Hallman of Bowling Green and Elizabeth Michelle Hallman and Brad Dozier of Adairville; and her grandchildren, Drew and his wife Kendra and their daughter Ansley of Springfield, Tristan, Bradley, Kaleb, and Riley Dozier, her step-children, John B Squire II of Morton, Ill. and Brandi Squire of St. Louis; her step-grandson, Preston Squire of Morton; her step-granddaughter, Nicole Bradley of Milwaukee; and her brother, Roy Forshee and his wife Sharon of Villagrive, Ill.

Funeral arrangements were made through Kirby Funeral Services, 110 Franklin Road, Russellville, KY. 42276 and are as follows: Visitation Tuesday, April 19, from2 4-8, and Wednesday, April 20, from 9-11 am. visitation, and 11 forthe funeral.  

Burial/Graveside services will be conducted at the Ann Hummer Cemetery, State Highway 663,  Adairville, KY. 42202.
