Sarah Frances Ballance Campbell was born in Franklin onJune 1, 1917, and passed away peacefully at the age of 104 with her son Robert Ballance by her side on Friday, April 8, 2022.

Sarah was born to Joseph Franklin Anglea and Cordilia Brown Anglea. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Franklin Anglea; her first husband, Henry W. Ballance Jr.; her second husband, J. Paris Campbell; her son, William Henry "Bill" Ballance; and her grandson, Scott Robert Ballance. Sarah is survived by her son, Robert W. "Bob" Ballance Jr., and wife Marlene; five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

During Sarah's life, after graduating Valedictorian of her Adairville High School class of 1934, she married Henry and together they started and operated Ballance Oil Company until Henry's death. After his death, she continued as chief owner-operator of the company, all for a total of 50 years before she sold the company and retired.

During her entire adult life, Sarah has been a multi-active member of First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main Streets, Russellville, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, playing piano, and other church activities. In addition to her business and church activities, she was active in many community and civic organizations such as the Women's Club, Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Teen Town, and others in Russellville, Logan County, and the state.

Funeral services for Sarah Frances Balance Campbell will be conducted Tuesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Sixth and Main Streets, Russellville with Bro Joe Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Tuesday, April 12 from 11 a.m. lasting until the service hour of 2 p.m.

Summers and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers are Mike Henning, Troy Henning, John Thomas Henning, Myles Ayers, Darin George, and Sam Christmas.
