Janet Phelps Rutherford, 77, of Russellville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. She was a Logan County native, born Dec. 14, 1943, to the late John Robertson Phelps and Dorothy Hannah Bond Phelps.
She worked as an office manager, active in the Russellville Band Boosters, Co- Founder of the Panther Spirits and of the Baptist faith.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Phelps, Roger Phelps, Charles Phelps, Richard Phelps and Neal Phelps.
She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Rutherford; her sons, Chris Rutherford and wife Candi of Montgomery, Ala. and Robbie Rutherford and wife Ruthie of Bowling Green; her sister, Linda Sidebottom of Springfield; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services for Janet Phelps Rutherford will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Summers and Son Funeral Home with Bro. Winston Roberts officiating and burial to follow in the Sulfur Spring Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held until the service hour.
Memorial donations may be given to the Logan County Library. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
