Joseph ‘Joe’ Lonnie Shaffer, 72, of Russellville passed away at his home on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021. He is the son of the late Ellis Shaffer and Betty Jo Robertson Shaffer.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Joann Stevenson Shaffer; his step-daughter, Sandra White; his daughter, Kristin Shaffer; his brothers, Cecil Shaffer, Glen Shaffer and Bill Shaffer; and his sister, Sue Shaffer.
Joe is survived by his long-time loving friend, Darlene Treece; his daughters Tammy Hester (Ronnie), Joann Shaffer and Crystal Cavanah (Rob), all of Russellville; his step-daughter, Sunny Shoemake (Bobby) of Russellville; his step-son, Eric Trammel of Russellville; his brothers, Joe Ellis Shaffer of Euporia, Miss., Danny Shaffer (Betty) of Myrtle, Miss., and David Shaffer of Russellville; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Joe was a heavy equipment operator for many years and was a devoted Christian.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 10, in the Celebration of Life Chapel of Kirby Funeral Services Russellville with Bro. Don Shaffer officiating services at 1 pm.
