Myrtle Scarbrough, 90, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020 at Auburn Health Care in Auburn. She was born in Brownsville on Sept. 10, 1930 to the late Fonce Gipson and Arlis Buley Gipson. She was a seamstress for the Auburn Hosiery Mill and member of Cave Spring Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, M.E. ‘Bill’ Scarbrough; her grandson, Dakota Tyree; and her sisters, Bernice Crawford and Lillian Kersey. 

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Rogers and Jimmy and Teresa Scarbrough, all of Auburn; her half-brothers, Dean and Dan Gipson, both of Auburn; her half-sisters, Martha Robertson of Franklin and Paulette Scarbrough, Rose Mary Miller and Phyllis Milner, all of Auburn; her grandchildren, Jennifer Reed and Chris of Hendersonville and Daniel Rogers of White House, Tenn.; and her great-grandchildren, Emily and Tanner Reed. 

Graveside Services for Myrtle Scarbrough were conducted on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Cave Spring Church Cemetery with Bro. Tony McAlister officiating. A Walk Through visitation at Cave Spring Baptist Church was held.

Summers and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
