Billy Joe “Huffy” Kemp, 81, of Russellville, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was a Logan County native, born Aug. 25, 1938 to the late Lloyd Crewson “Ned” Kemp and Fannie Mae Lockhart Kemp. He worked for ITW for 22 years, was a Boy Scout Leader for 20 years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Russellville.
He is survived by his brothers, Tom Kemp of Russellville and Wayne “Rabbit” Kemp of Lewisburg; his sisters, Jerlyne Starks of Atlanta and Sue Kunkle of Wichita, Kan.; his special great-nephews, Crewsdon Kemp and Keeler Kemp; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral Services for Billy Joe “Huffy” Kemp will be conducted at 1 p.m, on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Thompson officiating with burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held Tuesday from 11 a.m. and lasting until the time of the services.
Memorial donations may be given to the local Boy Scouts Troop. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
